A Steak is a slice of meat (from a larger piece of meat), most often beef (taken from the hindquarters of the animal), typically cut thick across the muscle grain. In our website a steak we mean steak of beef and all our steakhouses listed serve beef steak (other types of steak, could be found here as well).
Steaks are cut perpendicular to the muscle fibres, improving the perceived tenderness of the meat.
Steaks are typically served grilled, though they can also be pan-fried or broiled.
