Have been to Wild Willy's several times and always thought the food was great and the service excellent. However I changed my opinion after visiting this evening!
Called in with my girlfriend at around 7:30 and estimated the restauraunt was about half full. Normally in the past the waiting staff couldn't have been more attentive and helpful......Not this time! Two members of staff behind the bar saw me come in but ignored my arrival, so I approached the bar and asked for a table for two. The response was that there was no way I could have a table (despite the fact that there were several empty behind me) because it was busy as they had a large party just came in and "only had two chefs on". We wouldn't even have minded sitting and having a bottle of wine and waiting as the food was so good previously, but this didn't seem to be an option. He also helpfully added that we "should try Deanes' next door" !?!? Absolutely gobsmacked and slightly embarrassed, I asked for the manager's name and left. I'm sure he will be interested and surprised to know that his half empty restauraunt can afford to turn away paying customers on a cold and wet Wednesday Night AND recommend them to a rival!
I'm afraid I will not be back at this restauraunt, which is a pity because the food is excellent, but it is my belief that good customer service is what brings people back to a business again and again, and in my opinion service like this is totally unacceptable nowadays. To not even ask if we would mind waiting for a table or offering us a bottle of wine while we wait seems unforgivable ( and business suicide). Luckily there are several other nice steakhouses nearby which offer great food and 1st class service. Think twice if you haven't booked........

Just home from a birthday dinner, first time there and will def go again, great service maybe as it wasnt overly busy but staff attentive and food bought out within 10 mins of ordering. Steaks juicy, nicely cooked and very tender even for mum who aint got great nashers! The mixed grill went down well with dad and the rest of us all enjoyed our steaks, only one complaint, we all ate far too much. Would definately recommend, oh yea reasonable price too.
